Job Description
The role is for a hands-on developer to work in the Financial Markets team. It will involve working across a variety of cross business technology projects, with a particular focus on developing and improving the bank's strategic Middle Office and Back Office systems covering processing, valuation, confirm generation and improvements to the STP of these products

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Partnering with fellow IT colleagues and clients in the Middle Office and Operations to design and then implement solutions for complex business problems:
o Design, Development and Testing of in-house solutions.
o Assisting Business Analysts and Software Architects converting business requirements into system solutions.
o Monitoring, managing and reporting personal progress.
o Assist with System Testing and User Acceptance Testing.
o Assist with User Training.
o Provide 2nd-level support.
- Working with the users and IT Management, along with Operations, Middle Office and fellow Technology professionals, to understand, capture and manage requirements for improving and expanding the technology platform and its related business processes.
- Contributing to the overall effectiveness of the department and projects
- Play an active role in helping define and improve the project and the team.


Expertise in:
o JEE (JSP, JSF, Spring Framework and Hibernate) or Adobe Flex 3 (Flex Builder 3, AMF)
o Core Java SDK5+
o AJAX / JavaScript
o LINUX/UNIX skills.
o Continuous integration (ThoughWorks Cruise, Atlassian Bamboo or similar tools).
o Agile development
o EAI (middleware, message brokers, message parsing and formatting). Experience with webMethods 8.0 is preferable but not mandatory.
